Rwad Youth Forum concludes body language and personal empowerment course.

Rwad Youth Forum concludes body language and personal empowerment course at Wednesday , 26th Dec , 2018 , in partnership with Rwad Youth Forum , one of WSCR’s programs.

The course targeted 25 participants from all the majors and ages.

The course aims at shaping the participants’ personality and acquiring them with various skills through 20 hours , which was supervised by , Mr.Rami Shubair.

By the end of the course , the certificates were distributed among the participants , in the presence of Dr. Marwan Ajour , the Head of Rwad Youth Forum ,Mr.Seed Rajab, and Bsma Youth Club Leader , Mr. Omar El-Nada .

WSCR, receives a delegation from the Ministry of Social Developmentً

WSCR , represented by Dr. Mrwan Ajour and the coordinator of support and rehabilitation of the Palestinian families ,Mr. Ahmed al Mugary ,and the assistant of scientific research and training, Ms. Noor Shubair, received a delegation from Ministry of Social Development , on Wednesday , 27th Dec. 2018 ,at WSCR’s site , Tal al-Hawa-Gaza City. The delegation included each of Mr.Gasan Felfel ,the head of disables’ department and assigned for following the elder peoples’ file , and Mr. Nahed abo-Gyab from Ministry of Social Development.

The visit aims at spotting the light over the needs of the elder people , improving the professional work between the two parties. Also, emphasizing the importance of the scientific research at the Gaza Strip ,specifically, the neglected group of the elder people .

Dr.Mrwan Ajour , by his role , expressed his pleasure with receiving Ministry of Social Development’s Delegation . He also confirmed the continuing support of WSCR , to include its technical and administrative stuff , and the necessity of the joint collaboration between the two parties .This can be achieved by conducting mass study to acknowledge the reality and the challenges of the elder people at the besieged strip . All of which carry many demographic , social , economical , and developmental domains .

It is worth to be mentioned that WSCR always makes efforts to generate institutional relations with multi-domains , through its various programs particularly those related to the family and the elder people .

 

WSCR received an academic delegation from the University of Palestine in Gaza.

WSCR, represented by Dr.Marwan Ajour, received a delegation from the University of Palestine, which was headed by Dr. Ghada Abo Al-Qumbuz, a university lecturer and a member of the Office of Continuing Education at the University of Palestine, along with some of the university faculty members. The meeting aimed at discussing working methods of development and operational projects, that help to improve the institutional work at the Gaza Strip through the joint cooperation between the parties. There was an agreement about a joint cooperation between WSCR and the University administration to implement joint activities that can help the university’s student.

WSCR in collaboration with Al-Aqsa University conducted an event, entitled I am still a child

WSCR in collaboration with Faculty of Media at Al-Aqsa University conducted awareness- raising meeting, entitled (I am still a child). This meeting aims at talking about early marriage and its psychological effects on the individual, family, and community, in the presence of Dr.Marwan Ajour, the lecturer at the media department at Al-Aqsa University, Dr.Ahmed Hammad, and the lawyer of Department of Women’s Affairs, Ms. Suha Al-Shobaky, and a group of public relations course at the university.
Dr.Ajour confirmed at his speech the necessity of the joint cooperation between WSCR and the working institutions at the Gaza Strip. He spoke highly to the role of Al-Aqsa University in holding such these meetings, which enhance the state of awareness for the students about communities issues.
Dr.Ajour confirmed that WSCR makes efforts to support women, children, and youth, in addition to trying to join them at the society, through the various programs the society works on at the Gaza Strip.
At the conclusion of his speech, Dr.Ajour affirmed that the society strives to contribute in changing the prevailing concept about the early marriage and raising people’s awareness about this issue.
Dr.Ahmed Hammad, the lecturer at the Faculty of Media at Al-Aqsa University, spots the light over the most common negative effects of early marriage such as depriving the girls from their minimum rights, like completing her education. Hence, Dr.Hammad called upon setting goals and providing community’s support, and achieving gender equality.
Dr.Hammad spoke highly to WSCR’s role in supporting the important community’s issues, for the development of the society.
It’s worth mentioning that WSCR and Al-Aqsa University lately held many joint activities to enhance the spirit of cooperation between the society and the working institutions at the Gaza Strip.

El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation, in partnership with the Faculty of Media at Al-Aqsa University, implemented an event entitled (The cultural challenge).

WSCR, in partnership with The Faculty of Media at Al-Aqsa University, implemented an event entitled (The cultural challenge) taking place at its theater in the presence of the executive director, Dr.Salah Jarwan, the deanship of the faulty of media at Al-Aqsa University and group of its students.

Dr.Salah confirmed that El-Wedad Society supports the youth teams and students initiatives through Rwad Youth Forum to support the education process, as well as he thanked the deanship of the faculty of media for implementing meetings that support the university students in Palestine.

Al Wedad Society reveals the play taking place in its theatre: (Tales of an Immigrant)

.Al-Wedad Society reveals the play taking place in its theatre: (Tales of an Immigrant) that is included its One Story, One Homeland Project.

In One Story, One Homeland project, funded by The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), and in the presence of youth, cultural and social institutions, and elderly Palestinian immigrants, El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation revealed the play took place at its theatre (Tales of an Immigrant) on Wednesday evening, 15.August.2018, which was about cultural and social life details before 1948 and the Palestinian Nakba told by real narrators from elderly Palestinian immigrants.

That was one of series of shows implemented by its Youth Club, according to their origin countries.

They also will publish a book that includes stories from elderly Palestinian immigrants which tells cultural and social life details before the Nakba. It’s worth mentioning that El-Wedad society provides many services to all segments of the Palestinian society through its various programs, such as Youth Pioneers Forum, and builds a generation that able to change their society and play their leading role.

El-Wedad Society Implements a Workshop Entitled “The Reality and Challenges of the Elderly-2018”

     Believing in the significance role of the civil and official institutions in defending the rights of the elderly and addressing some of the most serious challenges facing them in meeting their needs, El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation conducted a workshop entitled “The Reality and Challenges of the Elderly-2018- in Palestine in General and the Gaza Strip in Particular”. It was implemented through the Family and The Elderly Program in the presence of representatives of the ministries and civil organizations working in the elderly field in addition to 23 representatives from the elderly themselves.

     The workshop aimed to meet the needs of the elderly in all fields and to identify their reality and the main challenges facing them by presenting a set of open questions. The session included discussing their most important contributions and efforts to serve the elderly in addition to the role of NGOs and ministries in defending their rights and working to develop and enrich their strategic plan.

The meeting was opened by Mr. Kamal Abu Qamar, the Acting Executive Director of El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation, welcoming the guests for their great role in serving the elderly. He stressed the need to establish a national base that includes the most significant needs, priorities, and nature of interventions for this significant group of the society. He also talked about their real condition in Palestine through statistical facts and the remarkable efforts exerted in this area by the ministries and the community institutions in support of their rights.

       For his part, Dr. Naeem Al-Ghalban, Chairman of the society, emphasized the need to adopt community-based voluntary initiatives with the participation of the elderly and to invest their unlimited expertise by the civil and official institutions that support them.

     At the end of the meeting, the participants praised the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Community Development, stressing the need to continue the support provided to them in all fields. For instance, managing their file, organizing the work process, distributing the efforts, and involving the institutions in forming the draft of their law, especially amid the major challenges faced by this category in the Gaza Strip.

El-Wedad in cooperation with the University College organizes an open day for the occasion of International Children’s Day

As part of the International Children’s Day and World Orphan Day  ,El-Wedad society for Community Rehabilitation, in cooperation with the University College of Applied Sciences, organized an open day during the 18th Palestine Festival for Childhood and Education, entitled “A Smile That Doesn’t Vanish”. The event was implemented in the presence of a large number of children participating from Nour Al- Marifa association, Al-Zaitoon school, and Al- Basma model Kindergarten.

      The festival, which was hold on the University College, had various recreational activities, individual and group games, and puppet theater which aimed at conveying educational messages to promote the children’s positive behaviors.

      Ms. Hadeel Sbita, Head of the Counseling and Psychosocial Support Unit at El-Wedad Society, stressed the need for continuous implementation of children’s activities aiming to support the rights of the Palestinian children and provide them with a friendly environment and a decent and secure life.

      It is worth mentioning that the Counseling and Psychological Support Unit at El-Wedad performs several psychological and community activities for different groups in the society, especially children, in order to reduce their psychological and social problems.
