في ظل تفشي فيروس كورونا داخل قطاع غزة جمعية الوداد تستجيب لنداءات استغاثة أطلقها كبار السن وذويهم

لا زالت الحالة الفلسطينية في مرحلة خطر شديد، خاصة مع ما يشهده قطاع غزة بشكل خاص من تفشي لفايروس كورونا، وعملية التقصي المستمرة من قبل وزارة الصحة لمتابعة خارطة الوباء؛ لاحتوائه وكسر حلقات تفشيه، وذلك من خلال عملية تقسيم مناطق القطاع لثلاث مناطق:
(حمراء وفيها يمنع التحرك بشكل تام ويفرض فيها حظر التجوال؛ لحصر الوباء وذلك في منطقتي غزة وشمال غزة، صفراء وفيها يحظر الحركة الاعتيادية، خضراء ويسمح فيها الحركة الاعتيادية جزئياً).

ووفق تقارير وبيانات مركز الإعلام والمعلومات الحكومي في قطاع غزة، حول وباء “كوفيد-19” فإن الفيروس لا يزال يشكل خطراً حقيقياً، إذ بلغ عدد إجمالي الحالات المصابة بالفيروس 969 حالة، منها 89 حالة تعافي، و873 حالة نشطة (843 من المجتمع – 30 من العائدين في الحجر)، وتوفى 7 حالات (6 من داخل المجتمع – 1 من العائدين).

إن إغلاق العيادات والمراكز الصحية زاد من الاحتياج لدى المسنين، ووجدنا صعوبة كبيرة في الوصول لتلبية احتياجاتهم في ظل الظروف الراهنة، ومع وجود العقبات التمويلية الخاصة بكبار السن في قطاع غزة، إذ تعتبر جمعية الوداد للتأهيل المجتمعي الممثل الوحيد في القطاع لفئة كبار السن، أصبح من الضرورة علينا التدخل لتوفير احتياجات كبار السن وحمايتهم من الخطر الحقيقي بوصول الفيروس لهم، خاصة وأنهم الأكثر تعرضاً للإصابة به؛ وذلك نتيجة الأمراض المزمنة وضعف المناعة الناتجة عن التقدم في العمر.

وإثر حالة الطوارئ الحكومية منذ مساء يوم 24 أغسطس، وإغلاق مداخل ومخارج وشوارع المدن والمناطق؛ لحصر الفيروس ومنع تفشيه، ومع حالة البطالة التي يعاني منها سكان قطاع غزة، والفقر المدقع نتيجة عدم توفر مصادر دخل للمواطنين، وصلنا نداءات استغاثة عبر صفحاتنا على مواقع التواصل، ومن خلال الاتصال علينا في الجمعية.

جمعية الوداد للتأهيل المجتمعي باشرت منذ ابريل 2020 بعدد من الأنشطة والمبادرات والمشاريع الخاصة بالتوعية والتثقيف لكبار السن وذويهم، ودراسة احتياجات كبار السن وتقديم الدعم النفسي اللازم لهم، ومع وصول الفيروس داخل المجتمع باشرت الوداد بالعمل الميداني بشكل عاجل من خلال تقديم الطرود الصحية وتوفير جزء من احتياجات كبار السن (الحفاضات الطبية، اسطوانات الاكسجين)، وذلك استجابةً لفئة كبار السن في ظل عدم توفر الدعم الكافي لتلبية كافة الاحتياجات.

ونتيجة لما سبق فقد جاءت أهمية استجابة الوداد لهذه الفئة الهامة والأكثر عرضة للإصابة بالفيروس، ووفق تقارير وبيانات وزارة الصحة فإن حالات الوفاة نتيجة فيروس كورونا، هي من قبل فئة كبار السن، والتي تقع ضمن دائرة اهتمام الوداد، ونتيجة ذلك نوصي بالتالي:
• ضرورة توفير المستلزمات الطبية لكبار السن بما يشمل (الأدوية، أجهزة فحص الضغط والسكر).
• توفير معدات تهوية لكبار السن لتحسين أوضاعهم داخل الحجر المنزلي.
• العمل على توفير فرق رعاية طبية منزلية وفق الإجراءات الوقائية خاصة مع إغلاق العيادات والمراكز الصحية والطبية.
• زيادة اسطوانات الاكسجين، وقد ثبت لدينا عبر الاتصال أن هناك حاجة عاجلة لاسطوانات اكسجين.
• تقديم الخدمات الأساسية الغذائية والصحية نتيجة قلة دخل أسرة كبار السن وكثرة عدد أفرادها.
• تركيز الفحص المخبري على الفئات الأكثر عرضة للإصابة وهم كبار السن وأصحاب الأمراض المزمنة.
• طمأنة كبار السن، وتقديم الإرشادات التوعوية لهم حول المرض، وضرورة إمدادهم بالمعقمات ومواد التنظيف كالصابون والكحول الطبية.

In light of the outbreak of Coronavirus in the Gaza Strip, El-Wedad Association responds to the distress calls made by the elderly and their families

The Palestinian situation is still in a stage of severe danger, especially with the outbreak of Coronavirus in the Strip particularly, and the ongoing processes conducted by the Ministry of Health to follow the epidemic map; as To contain and break the chains of its outbreak, through the process of dividing the Strip into three regions:
(The red zone, in which movement is strictly prohibited with a curfew imposed, to limit the epidemic, in the Gaza city and Northern regions; The yellow zone and in which regular movement is prohibited; The green zone in which regular movement is partially permitted).

According to the reports and data offered by the Government Media and Information Center in the Gaza Strip regarding “Covid-19” epidemic, the virus still poses a real threat, as the total number of cases infected with the virus reached 969, of which 89 were recovered, 873 as still considered as active cases (843 from the community – 30 Of the returnees in quarantine), and 7 cases died (6 from within the community – 1 of the returnees).

The closure of clinics and health centers increased the elder’s needs, and we found it very difficult to reach their needs in light of the current circumstances, and with the financing obstacles for their group in the Strip, as the El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation is the only representative for the elderly group, to intervene was a must as to fulfill the needs of the elderly and protect them from the danger of the virus, especially since they are most vulnerable to infection; as a result of chronic diseases and weak immunity due to aging.

Following the emergency governmental state since the evening of August 24. The closure of the entrances, exits, and streets of cities and regions; To limit the virus and prevent its spread, along with the state of unemployment afflicting the residents of the Gaza Strip, as well as the extreme poverty due to the lack of citizens’ income sources, we received distress calls through our pages on the social media platforms, our official sites, and in the association by direct contacting.

Since April 2020, El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation has embarked on a number of activities, initiatives, and projects to raise awareness and educate the elderly and their families, study their needs and provide the necessary psychological support to them, and with the arrival of the virus within the community, El-Wedad began fieldwork urgently by providing health packages and parts of what is most needed (diapers, oxygen jars), in light of the lack of sufficient support to meet all their needs.

As a result of the above, the importance of El-Wedad’s response to this important and most vulnerable, to infection with the virus, group along with the reports and data of the Ministry of Health, deaths due to the Coronavirus are from the elderly group, which falls in El-Wedad’s interest, and as a result, we recommend the following:
• The necessity to provide medical supplies for the elderly, including (medicines, blood pressure, and sugar testing devices).
• Providing ventilation equipment for the elderly to improve their conditions within the home quarantine.
• Providing home medical care teams falls under preventive measures, especially with the closure of clinics, health, and medical centers.
• Increasing oxygen jars, as proof that there is an urgent need for oxygen jars.
• Providing basic food and health services due to the low income of the elderly families and the large member’s numbers.
• Focusing the laboratory examination on the most vulnerable groups, namely the elderly and people with chronic diseases.
• Reassuring the elderly, and providing them with educational instructions about the disease, and providing them with sterilizers and cleaning materials such as soap and medical alcohol.
